The FAO and international consultants had managed a land reform project in Lesotho and instituted a digital cadastral land management system based on FLOSS SOLA (now called ‘Registry’).

Kartoza was called in at the tail-end of the FAO project to train staff on QGIS to perform data preparation tasks for FLOSS-SOLA and to interact with the PostGIS and Geoserver instances that are integrated with the FLOSS-SOLA instance. We were also called upon to review and report on the FLOSS-SOLA, PostGIS and Geoserver implementations.
